Dr Martin Robert is a postdoctoral research fellow at CERMES3 (Villejuif) funded by the Institut Francilien Recherche Innovation Société (IFRIS). He holds a PhD in history (2019) from the Université du Québec à Montréal, where he was a research assistant at the Centre d'histoire des régulations sociales (2010-2020) of which he is now a research associate.

Before joining CERMES3, he was a postdoctoral research fellow (2019-2021) at the Oxford Centre for the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology and a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Oxford.

His research focuses on the links between institutions of medical education in empires and the globalisation of the medical profession since the eighteenth century. He is particularly interested in medical schools in Canada and India under the British and French imperial regimes.
