Sylvain Besle

Sylvain Besle is a sociologist and holds a research chair at the Institut National du Cancer, entitled "Social Challenges of Personalized Medicine and Innovations in Cancerology". His work focuses on clinical research and genomic medicine. He is particularly interested in the use of unconventional treatments (clinical trials, off-label treatments) in clinical practice. In this context, he examines issues such as the chronicization of disease, social inequalities in health, the production of biomedical evidence and the transformation of hospital organizations.
